Gran Turismo 5 – Christmas 2009!

gt5 2009 Gran Turismo 5 Christmas 2009!

From a very surprising yet highly reliable source, we’ve got the most likely and realistic Gran Turismo 5 release date!  Sony’s chief executive in southern Europe, James Armstrong, revealed in a statement to Spanish newspaper El Financiero that we can expect the game to arrive (in Europe, at least) Christmas 2009.  Here’s the full translated quote:

For next year, the chief executive of Sony Computer Entertainment for southern Europe said that they are developing a new game thriller, in which the player may be designing their own history, and the new version of Gran Turismo, which will arrive at Christmas.

This would provide for a late summer release in Japan, and late fall/early winter releases in the United States and Europe.  From a sales perspective, it would also provide the PlayStation franchise with a major blockbuster release heading into next year’s Christmas season.  What do you think?  Join the discussion in our Gran Turismo 5 forum!

Prince of Persia Review

The new Prince of Persia is a departure from the previous games in the series, the design philosophy has changed and he shares the story with a rather attractive female companion. Is this enough to freshen up this platform hopping franchise however?
When the game starts the Prince is merely a charming thief who gets lost in a sandstorm and goes on a hunt for his missing donkey, Farah. This sandstorm, we find out is actually magical and has transported the Prince to another land, a distant place deeply rooted in mythical lore. He meets up with a woman called Elika, a semi clad warrior whose task is to guard a prison (called the Tree of Life), containing the evil god Ahriman. As always, the two meet just as Ahriman escapes, unleashing a foul corruption across the world. The corruption will continue to spread and blight everything, unless of course The Prince and Elika can intervene.
Interestingly, Elika has been coded to offer much more than a nice looking diversion, she is your guide, able to cast spells throughout the game to offer assistance if you get stuck. Not only that, but she can offer help in combat and sometimes swing the balance. She is also your teacher and informs you as the game progresses about the conflict between Ahriman and Ormazd as well as the tragic tales of the four bosses you meet in battle.

New Xbox Experience has no loopholes

Those wishing to avoid or circumvent the update of all updates coming later this fall have been outsmarted once more. Staying offline will only postpone the installment.
Every new game coming out will contain the necessary code to obtain the new update without any choice. Therefore users can either just play old games or quit all together. Either choice looks unlikely.
