Samsung Galaxy ace plus doing well in the mid-range segment of mobile handsets especially for those who just move from the basic handsets to something techy. The Korean house Samsung bring up in the category of Galaxy an plus version of its ace in 2011 with 1 Ghz processor, Touch Wiz 4.0 UI and the video quality made reasonable to VGA (640 x 480 ) @ 30fps.with resolution same at HVGA (320 x 480) and the pixel density is also lesser at (~158).

Samsung did a wonderful job of upgrading the Galaxy Ace Plus with Android Gingerbread 2.3.6. and Touch Wiz 4.0 UI.A good 512 MB of RAM helps in the overall performance with internal memory of 3GB which can be expanded up to 32GB.The Plus version of the Samsung Galaxy is comes up to 3.65“display. This newer version has only one “Home” button while the other two are move to the touch- sensitive section. The back section of this new Ace had 5-megapixel camera along with an LED flash below it and the speaker opening to its right. What disappoint me is that there’s no physical camera button. I felt galaxy Ace plus light weighted measuring it to 114 g. If we talk about its thickness then we end up measuring it to 11.2mm thinness

The home screen looks vibrant and organized with all new widget style in Touch Wiz 4.0 and seven home screens to arrange all your widgets and shortcuts. The camera remains the same on Galaxy Ace Plus with a 5-megapixel snapper capable of shooting at a maximum resolution of 2560 x 1920 pixels. 3X zoom. Samsung upgrade galaxy ace plus here by introducing VGA video recording (640 x 480 ) @ 30fps. The codec support is limited to 3GP/H.263/H.264/MPEG4. No Divx/Xvid support present here. The browser supports Flash and playing a 720p video on YouTube was no issue for the phone

Surfing around to media-rich websites was smooth and page loading didn’t took much time with an advancement search option for a title song directly on YouTube or simply Google it right from the Music Player. Biography of the singer can be searched on the net right from the player.

All necessary connectivity options are present in this mobile. 3G, Wi-Fi b/g/n, Wi-Fi hotspot, stereo Bluetooth 3.0, microUSB port, GPS receiver with A-GPS and TV out. Samsung’s offering free Bluetooth headset along with the phone. Samsung offers only some pre-loaded apps like ChatON (their own cross-messaging platform), KIES 2.0, Social Hub, etc.

The Samsung Galaxy Ace Plus carries a 1300mAh battery, a little lesser than the 1350mAh battery found on the old Galaxy Ace. Samsung need to sink in 1500mAh beneath the cover.

A missing front view camera, average video recording and a low display resolution are the major drawback which stops the Galaxy Ace Plus from being called the Best Budget Android handset device. Other than that, the 1Ghz processor impresses as a performer and the refined TouchWiz UI with Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread gives the user a fluid experience. All-in-all, the Galaxy Ace Plus outperforms the old Ace and is recommended at that price tag. It won’t disappoint you except for a few drawbacks.

Sony mobile has added yet another mid-range mobile to his Xperia family named Xperia “L”. This will be the first mobile from Sony to launch it with ICS update of android. First it was known as Neo L but now its name is Xperia L so don’t get confused. As Sony has especially announced this mobile for China market so there is also chance that Sony will introduced to other regions.

As this phone is similar to Sony Xperia Neo V, we can say that Neo V will be replaced by Xperia L. There is not much difference between the specification of Neo V and Xperia L. Sony has given it a 4.0 inch display with 1 Ghz Qualcomm processor and 512 mb ram and also the very first in Xperia family to get ICS in stock. So Xperia L will be running Ice Cream Sandwich android 4.0.

Xperia L Specification and detail

· 4.0-inch TFT touchscreen with a 480 x 854 pixel resolution
· 1GHz Qualcomm MSM8255 processor, 512 MB of RAM
· Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich
· 3G, EDGE/GPRS, Wi-Fi
· GPS with A-GPS support
· Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP, USB 2.0
· 5 megapixel camera with LED flash, 720p video recording, secondary VGA camera
· Stereo FM radio with RDS
· 1GB internal storage memory expandable up to 32GB via microSD card
· 1500 mAh Lithium – ion battery

Sony Xperia L Price Release date

By looking on specs price of Xperia L should not be more than Rs.18000 in Indian market (if Sony shipped in India). Otherwise this good looking mobile for young generation with 4 inch display and increased ram which has surpassed Neo V will not be available in India. Sony has not yet announced when this mobile is going to be available in market. As Xperia’s other members are debuting, we are hoping that Xperia L will be available soon in market too

UK Users of the massively successful Samsung Galaxy S2 are now receiving the updates for Android 4.0 that launched earlier in the month in a number of other European countries. [...]

UK Users of the massively successful Samsung Galaxy S2 are now receiving the updates for Android 4.0 that launched earlier in the month in a number of other European countries. The Ice Cream Sandwich Android 4.0 update for the Galaxy S2 was made available for users in Sweden, Hungary Poland and Korea from the 13th of March, before being launched in the UK a week later prior to a programme of gradual launches across the rest of the world. Ice Cream Sandwich is the most up to date version of the mobile operating system developed by Google, and the availability of this system for the Galaxy S2 has been eagerly awaited by fans of the handset.

The Galaxy S2 has become one of the biggest selling and most popular of all of Samsungs mobile phone range since it was originally released in 2011 and the company is currently estimated to have sold more than 20 million of the S2 mobiles in that time. Despite this the company has been comparatively slow in making this Android 4.0 upgrade available for users of the S2, compared to some of the other Samsung phones.

The company’s Galaxy Nexus smartphone was given the status of being the first handset for a mobile device to have Ice Cream Sandwich, when it was upgraded to feature the system last November. However, despite this, sales of the Galaxy S2 have remained extremely strong and with the operating system now set to be available for users of the phone – at least in the UK – it is likely to remain one of the best-selling of all the Samsung phones available.

“Samsung UK can confirm that the rollout of Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) on Galaxy S2 will be available from week commencing March 19, however the availability of software upgrades in the UK will be dependent upon each network’s own software approvals process,” the company stated.

Nokia’s Lumia 800 released in October 2011. Lumia 800 is the first nokia mobile to have windows OS. Lumia 800 design is quite similar to Nokia Meego and also Lumia 800 has same curved glass with Amoled display. On the bottom one drilled speaker. At top includes a 3.5mm headphone socket a flap for the micro USB port and a SIM card tray that accepts only micro SIM card.

Front-facing camera is absent in Lumina 800. No notification LEDs, on the back is an 8 megapixel auto focus camera with Carl Zeiss optics and dual LED flash. Weighing 142g little heavier than Nokia N9. In terms of thickness both are 12.1mm. Competitors HTC Radar runs the same OS but it is lighter and thinner than Lumia 800. Lumina 800 have a curved 3.7-inch AMOLED Black glass touchscreen display supporting the resolution of 800×480 pixels. Lumina 800 has a Gorilla glass that’s makes the display scratch resistant

User Interface & Operating system

Lumia 800 has intuitive user friendly interface and the touch is super responsive. HTC radar Samsung Omnia W is tough competitors of Lumia 800.Nokia Drive and Nokia Maps on the device are worth making Lumia 800 an efficient mobile. The Nokia Drive app converts your handset into a satellite navigation system and provides navigation services including voice assisted turn-by-turn instructions.

Camera

Lumia 800 has 8 megapixel camera with f/2.2 Carl Zeiss lens, autofocus, dual-LED flash and 3x digital zoom. Same lens as in N8, which is best in its category. Lumia 800′s camera produces excellent and sharp images, but in low-light conditions, the camera fails to impress.
